THE GIRL

hi! i’m Alice.

a Michigander turned Wisconsinite. a twentysomething. a librarian. a daughter, sister, friend and yogi. i’m crazy about green juice (if only because i hate actual vegetables), walking (perhaps only because i don’t own a car), beer (i do live in Milwaukee, the beer capital of the world) and the internet (because i’m one of those damn millennials right?).

i’m passionate about books and learning, holistic and mental health, good food and drink, making the world a better place, and all manner of other things depending on the week.

i’m always striving to live the happiest and best life possible, and i would love for you to come on the journey with me!

    • i’m glad you stopped by! i stopped calorie counting cold turkey…i deleted my fitness pal and consciously forced myself to stop mentally adding up calories, and instead began to focus on paying attention to what i was craving and making sure it would be a complete, filling meal (this was hard and took a fair amount of time). i suppose i binge ate to some extent while i was growing up, not emotionally per se, but because i was unconsciously eating foods that weren’t generally allowed in my parent’s house like cookies and candy. i had a period of binge eating a few years ago, which was also not very tied to emotions (except boredom perhaps) but, in my opinion, had to do with me undernourishing myself on the average day. after meeting with a nutritionist, i worked to increase the food i ate on a daily basis and those binges stop. sometimes i still eat a little too much of something i love, but i honestly don’t remember the last time i binged. i hope this helps!
